The Joint Leadership of the United States Congress, and the Congressional Award Board of Directors, give the Horizon Award special recognition. The Horizon Award is given to people working in the private sector who have helped to increase opportunities for all Americans. It also honors those who have set exceptional standards for the next generation of young people with their achievements in life. Tom was an excellent player and was thrilled to be included within such a highly skilled and knowledgeable group. He worked hard and played with a lot of intensity whenever his Magnum schedule permitted . He was kind to us all, and we loved the large crowds which replaced our usual small number of couples and friends for the national tourney matches. ".
