Kellie was among the top "American Idols" regardless of the fact that she wasn't a winner. Kellie Pickler was born on 28 June 1986 to Cynthia Morton Pickler and Clyde Raymond Pickler in Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. Her mother was barely 16 when she got expecting her. It was a harsh childhood for Pickler since her father was struggling with addiction issues for both drugs and alcohol as her mother divorced her in the early age of two. Morton took Pickler's custody for two years but Pickler stated that the situation was bad. "I recall my mother with me being living in the same room, when I told her that I'd rather die than to be here with you. I wish God took me off.' The girl pulled an old kitchen knife and placed it on the counter. She then said: "Here you go." in fourth grade. Naturally, I wouldn't had acted on it however it has caused quite a bit of emotional trauma," she said. The court eventually handed Pickler to her grandparents at the age of she was 12 and Morton didn't show to the court trial. Pickler, who cites her grandparents as one of her main influences in life throughout her life, was raised by the grandparents. In the month of January, 2002, her mother Faye Pickler passed away from lung cancer. Her family was led by her grandfather. Pickler graduated from The North Stanly High school at New London, North Carolina.
